6. Being a cat person or dog person is not just a simple thing of preference
An associate professor of psychology at the Carroll University in Wisconsin named Denise Guastello believes that our underlying personality differences are what stem our preferences in animals. She explained that “It makes sense that a dog person is going to be livelier, because they’re going to want to be out there, outside, talking to people, bringing their dog”.
Whereas if you’re more introverted and sensitive, maybe you’re more at home reading a book, and your cat doesn’t need to go outside for a walk.” This suggests that our personality traits intertwine with our preferences and environment as well.
