Martin Scorsese's Religious Epic 'Silence' Is Here With Its First Trailer

The first look of Martin Scorsese's much awaited 'Silence' debuted Tuesday night. The religious drama, starring Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver and Liam Neeson, opens Dec. 23.

 

Based on a novel by Japanese author Shusaku Endo, “Silence” tells the story of two Portuguese Jesuit priests, played by Driver and Garfield, who must contend with various forms of persecution, including torture, while traveling through Japan to proselytize locals and track down their mentor, played by Neeson.
