Flashback : Simpsons Predicted Trump's Win And Presidency
If a year ago you'd asked most political pundits if Donald Trump could be a serious contender for Presidency, most would've laughed at you. Even as recently as a few months into 2016, he hadn't seemed like a threat to other contenders who'd made a living out of politics.
As it turned out, not only was he a serious contender, but also the President-elect, and soon to be 45th President of the United States of America. If predicting his rise in '15 was tough, imagine doing so in 2000. And sixteen years ago, the Simpsons did just that. In an episode "Bart to the Future", Bart gets a look at his adult self. And while he's only a slob like his father, his sister Lisa manages to become the President of the USA. As President Simpson tells her aides in one scene, "As you know, we've inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump." In fact, the country is "broke," she learns, after Trump's presidency.
In light of recent events, all America can hope for is this line from the Simpson's episode to not come true, because it has proved to be quite the fortune teller.
